Importance of Good Oral Care
The importance of a strong and healthy set of teeth cannot be undermined. Good oral health should start as early as possible, even before your child turns one year of age.
Not only adults, but even children are susceptible to dental problems. It is surprising to note that dental caries is the most common chronic childhood disease, about 5 times more than asthma, and 7 times more than hay fever.
How Soon is Too Soon?
The foundation of a strong set of teeth starts with the baby teeth. Baby teeth, or milk teeth as they are called, serve important purposes such as helping your child to speak normally, and to chew properly. It also paves the way for the permanent teeth to come in properly. Hence it is imperative that your child should have his/her first dental visit before the age of one. Most pediatric dentists suggest a regular check-up every six months, however, your dentist may ask you to come in more often, if required.
Why a Pediatric Dentist?
A pediatric dentist is a dentist who has not only completed the mandatory four years of dental school, but has also completed an additional 2 to 3 years of specialty training to treat children only. A pediatric dentist is trained to educate children on the importance of oral hygiene, and on how to take care of their teeth. They are also trained to help children feel comfortable about visiting the dentist. They help create a positive dental experience for children. Dr.Eftekhari has over eight years specializing in pediatric dentistry. He has also been awarded with the Oral Conscious Sedation Certificate for children from California Dental Board Examiners. He has treated over Eight Thousand happy pediatric patient treatments.
Our Facilities for Children

*Our waiting area is equipped with a variety of stuffed animals for your child to play with while you wait in the waiting area.
*Our friendly staff and our team of doctors wear uniforms with cartoon characters, so that your child does not see the plain white coat of which they are normally afraid of.
